Dog Fancy Releases 2010 Top Dog Parks List
Readers of the June edition of Dog Fancy magazine will have a chance to see how their local dog parks measure up with the release of the 2010 list of America's Best Dog Parks. Multiple factors were considered for judging purposes, including parking, water availability and safety.
Did your favorite park make the cut? For those volunteers supporting local parks, this list may serve as a great source of ideas. Winners in order are:
Jackass Acres K-9 Korral, New River, AZ
Pilgrim Bark Park, Provincetown, Mass.
Kenton Paw Park, Covington, Ky.
Cosmo Dog Park, Gilbert AZ
Puptown Dog Park, Chicago, Ill.

I just know the girls are going to try to get me to take a road trip now!
ReplyDeletePilgrim Bark Park, Provincetown, Mass. is over an hour away. Wish there was one in Central, Mass. :(
ReplyDeleteOh, road trip for me too! Would you aim for Clinton or Chicago, Houndstooth??
ReplyDeleteI'm not complaining, though, because the new dog park in my area is five minutes from my house, and there's another one about fifteen minutes away.
Dog Park? Vas es dog park? We live in the toolies of Western PA....
ReplyDeleteBeen AWOL again - grandpeep duty! None of our doggie parks made it? Hmmmm - methinks 'tis of all the open lands 'round here, so don't feel too bad! Looked through a few past posts - a lot of nuze, but the most horrible is about the good vet. I pray that they find the drivers of the "hit and run," although NOTHING can bring back that good samaritan and mom. Oh how horrible.

I think Pilgrim Park would make for a nice day trip! Thanks buggers.

We don't do dogparks here. Ours stink. When they are run correctly, though, they can be great fun!
ReplyDeleteWe have a few here, but nothing spectacular. We think we need to make a trip to the Cape and check out Pilgrim Park.
ReplyDeleteWoos - Phantom, Thunder, and Ciara
thanks for the heads up! We will have to check out the ones near us!
ReplyDeleteThose parks scare us. There are to many kids running around like maniacs

ReplyDeletethanks for sharing~! :)

We have an awesome, well run dog park in Belfast, Me. Just one more reason to visit this amazing area and share it with your pooch!
ReplyDeleteThere aren't any dog parks near me but there is a really nice walking path that gets used frequently by dogs and their owners. I like it because there's also some old farm equipment with descriptions of what that equipment was used for along with a picture of what it looks like today. There's also benches and on the ground are markers to tell how far you've gone.
ReplyDeleteI've enjoyed making my neighbourhood a dog park but Mom didn't find the humour in THAT!

Wow! NJ included for a good dog park ?... Woo hoo...........gotta check that out!!!!!
ReplyDeleteClearly Dog Fancy has never been to Fiesta Island in San Diego ... ;-)
ReplyDeleteNothing around here. Hmmmph. I know it was number 10, I think Bow Wow Beach should get special mention for best name.

Pilgrim Bark Park in Provincetown rocks! Plus miles of off leash beaches and trails make the tip of Cape Cod the ultimate canine resort!
