The Blind Leading the Sighted

I did not have a post planned for today - I've been busy tallying scores from Monday's games so we can announce winners tomorrow, and yesterday's storm was a big distraction. I also spent the majority of the evening on a site layout enhancement. Regular readers will notice the difference. :) That said, I had no time to test multiple browsers, so if you could be my eyes for me and leave a comment if you have any errors I'd appreciate it.

While I continue to dig out and do the math, let me share a story that is just plain inspiring. Caught this on TV on my way to work and ended up being a few minutes late. It was worth it.  ♥

Enjoy the clip. See you tomorrow with great news for ten of our fans...

that story is awesome. i heard about it but hadn't watched it yet. in fact, i'm about to walk my doggies now but put it off to watch Isabelle... sigh. duh. like we should shoot every animal and person who's blind huh? useless. dumb thing to say to such nice people.

  22. Definitely worth being late for. This touching story is another sweet example of how much we have to learn from our dogs!!

Games? We missed it all. (Again.)

  23. What a very wonderful story! So very glad they didn't listen to anyone around them telling them to get 'ride' of her. But instead they let Isabel tell them what she wanted to do and they listened!

  24. Thanks for the clip. Seeing the dogs reminded me of my Malamute-mix from years ago, Kishka. She was one of the best dogs ever!

I can just see Nigel doing this. Not.

You strap him in to the harness, he turns around and gives you the stink-eye, then promptly lies down to fall asleep. In the snow. Or heads off to look for the nearest couch.

That's a hound for ya. Regards, Cousin Gracie

  31. Isabel proved them wrong - good for her! And good for her parents for believing in her!

  32. As a notorious non-TV watcher, I did not see this when it aired, but within minutes I had dozens of emails from friends asking if I had seen it. Took me a while to find a link to it. Great, great story.

  33. We actually stood still for a bit and watched Isabel too. We think Mom has watched it 35 zillion times. What an awesome story and to have it featured on the Olympics coverage was just great.

  34. I see that even when people are bundled up for subzero temperatures, they still like to wave at the camera. Cute video, love how excited the dogs get when it's time to work!
