Believe it or not, most of the tales you'll find here are based in reality. Don't get me wrong: they stop at the bar on the way home, get liquored up and veer wildly away from said reality, only to meander back to it just in time to let the outcome be known. There is a very strange story we have to share with you, but that story has not ended, and will not lend itself to early disclosure. I will drop one last hint and say that the trap has arrived. Have fun with that...
While I have a moment, let me say that I've been trying to make the blog rounds and have happened across some tags and awards that I am late to acknowledge. If I have missed yours please let me know!
Five that I did find:
Thank you for practicing restraint Holly. It would have been easy and accurate to erase that second "s" prior to presenting this award to us.
A recent nod came from Carolina at Brinkbeest
Believe it or not, one or two people have suggested that we might be a little crazy. They underestimate, and this award has our number with a bullet.
Movie star Suzuki found us worthy of this fine award.
I'm not sure that we're fab, but who are we to argue with a dog in sunglasses?
Our friend Jan in Utah was kind enough to provide the Proximade award.
Jan called us clever. Please do not explain the difference between clever and crazy to her - we don't want to forced to give our award back :)

We love when other people are so nice. It gives us something to aspire to ;)
There are all kinds of rules that come with such awards, but we hate rules, so feel free to take your pick - on us!
We are very thankful for all of the incredibly nice people that we have met this year. It has been remarkable, and the experience has only strengthened our belief that dog lovers are the best people on the planet. Dogs do rule, but so do a few of their two-leggers!
Speaking of two-leggers: enjoy this picture of Nigel from his recovery. He had a hard time kicking the Tramadol habit - Nigel does enjoy his pain pills a tad too much. We shared this information on Facebook and thankfully, his human friends there helped coax him back to sobriety.
What are you thankful for this Thursday? Whatever it may be, cherish it. And be well.
I am thankful Mummy found this blog. She is usually crying from laughter when she has finished reading it.

ReplyDeleteoh, is it in the 'downtown-outdoor msll type thingy" in Burlington?- somewhere near the Culinary Institute? Are all the "hippies" still hanging around-or not warm enough yet?
agree- dogs and their people are the BEST!

I am thankful for several things in this second...I'm thankful to Al Gore for inventing the Internet, because without him, how could so many clever minds, like the ones that live here, find a way to share it all with us...
ReplyDeleteI'm thankful that I don't have a shin humping, drug lovin', FaceBook hangin' dog...because if I had him, you wouldn't hear anything near as funny as what his Two Legger hears.
I'm thankful for all the time and energy you have Mr. Author for giving us such fun moments on days that could be quite Crappy.
And, last the Academy would like to acknowledge Mrs. Author for her support. Without you, and with a quick dial to 911, the white coats from the home would be out in a N.Y. sec to put them in the back of the van for the asylum.
I'm thankful for it all.
I'm thsnkful I'm 'here' to be thankful!
ReplyDeleteHugz&Khysses,
Khyra
I'm more thankful for Saturday than Thursday. Saturday is piggy twist night. But then, if there were no Thursday, would there even be a Saturday? Okay, I better be thankful for EVERY day!. Woof, Tank
ReplyDeleteThankful you joined Expressly Corgi as a follower - so I could find YOUR blog! Love the doggie with the lampshade hat - PARTY ON!
ReplyDeleteI am thankful to have met woos!!! Thankful for my doggie treats, my mommy and hooman brother...and yes, even the other furries in the house. Harooo rooo!!!!
ReplyDeleteMya Boo Boo
Each of your awards were well deserved. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm thankful that as I enter day six without sugar, I am actually becoming OK with it. My coffee doesn't taste like dirt today and I've lost two pounds. Woo Hoo!
I'm also thankful that Zeke (my dog) hasn't been nearly as gassy these past two days. Having already exhausted every idea under the sun for ridding him of said gas, I haven't done anything new lately. It just stopped. I may not know why, but I am not one to look a gift horse in the mouth. I'll take it!
And I'm thankful I got my cabbage and spinach in the ground before it decided to rain for three days straight here.
I am thankful and grateful for good health and for having had the privilege and opportunity to give homeless, helpless animals a second chance.
ReplyDeleteNice party hat! Looking forward to Paula Abdul's capture!!!
ReplyDeleteTinkerbell, Oscar and Tucker
Hi Nig! I originally wanted to post a clever and witty comment but when I thought about it, really thought about it, I knew that I was thankful for so many really important things in my life. So on this beautiful Thursday I am thankful.... that I wake up each day to the 8 gorgeous furry faces in my life. Without them I would not be complete. I'm also thankful for all those furries who have passed over and whom I loved just like they were my own skin children. I think especially of my Sparkle, my heart dog, who gave me so much and asked for so little. Losing her left a huge hole in my heart that will never be filled but golly, I thank God for the time we had together. I'm thankful for the usual stuff- health, home and family and friends but of all my gratitude, I thank God the most for my dogs and cats. May God bless the ones who share my life today (3 greyhounds, 2 geriatric poodles and 3 cats) and the souls of the ones who are waiting for me at the Bridge.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on all your awards. Good think Nigel let off the pain meds. We don't want him to attempt the theft of prescription pads.
ReplyDeleteI'm thankful that my Old Girl and Mr. Jason will spend the weekend with ME! And for your blog. :)
ReplyDeleteHaha! That picture of Nigel is hil-ar-ee-us!
